Hi! This is a short post to (more or less) apologize to my friends and family for my shortcomings in the following weeks.
I’m currently in the midst of a quite daunting task: preparing for law school finals. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the process of earning a JD, 1L finals are pretty much do-or-die. In less than two weeks, I will take three three hour tests, each of which will determine my grade for the entire course. No quizzes, no midterms, no worksheets, no papers, no assignments. Nine hours will determine just how much I learned this semester.
Preparing for these tests is extremely time consuming because of their demanding nature and the level of nuance expected by our professors. It’s especially difficult since I’ve never taken tests quite like these before. I’ll be spending a lot of time studying and being alone to prepare.

Due to these circumstances, I’m extremely sorry if I take awhile to get back to your text, if I cancel our plans, or if I’m just grumpy and short. Thank you for being patient with me during this challenging time in the semester.
I will see you all on the other side of my mountain of textbooks for a much longer blog post on December 7, the day of my last final. I look forward to returning to life among the living then!
